So often when we’re anxious or uncomfortable or scared, we detach.
We escape to avoid the difficult feelings that arise, both physical and emotional.
We pull away from ourselves, from our people, from our lives in order to protect our fragile selves.
And how much we miss out on when that becomes a habit.
Perhaps it was once imperative. And now, it’s become something we don’t know how to stop.
Maybe we don’t need to know how. Maybe we just need to be willing to stay, and see what happens?
And next time, it becomes easier.
Until one day we realize that life feels a little different, a little more peaceful, being lived from within.
