Last year, I was invited to join with 21 other empath authors to share our stories of of awakening, transformation, and recovery. The stories that emerged from this project contain beautiful poetry, vivid descriptions of how an empath sees the world, and compelling messages of change, healing, and joy.
Some of you have heard my story about how writing poetry – and one poem in particular – shifted everything for me. That story of The Poem is captured in this collection and although I’ve told the story before to live audiences, it brought up new feelings to see it in writing.
Writing a book and sharing it with others always feels like laying your heart out on a table, but this story made sharing about this book feel even more vulnerable.
I describe one of the darkest times in my life, the years after my mom passed from cancer, a time when I was about as disconnected from myself as I could possibly be.
I share how I rose up out of that period of my life through the unexpected joy and healing power of writing.
And perhaps more importantly, I connect how The Poem laid the foundation for the work I do today, working with other sensitive, empathic, and purposeful women.Powerful, healing, aligned stuff, if I do say so myself.
The Empath Effect: Powerful Stories of Love, Courage & Transformation is available now on both Amazon.com and Books-A-Million.com.
It’s for anyone who enjoys a good trial-to-triumph read, but it’s especially for the “too sensitive” people.
Those who have perhaps always felt different or were told they were “too much.”
Those who give too much and take on too much and still keep going because the drive to serve is greater than the pain it often causes.
You’ll find yourself in these vulnerable, heartfelt stories.
That’s the Empath Effect.
