And when she knows
It’s time to go
She goes
And when she’s unsure
She rests
And tests her resolve
For trusting
The dark whispers
In her soul

We like to assume the dark is bad, that dark thoughts are to be pushed away.
But so often, the thing we perceive as “dark” is only in the shadows because we don’t want to see or hear its truth.
We don’t want to admit that this thought, this idea, this direction we feel pushed is actually the way to go.
Maybe it seems illogical or out of place or pushes us out of our comfort zone, toward a path that is still unclear.
Maybe it threatens to upend ways of being that makes us feel safe and secure.
Maybe it forces us to see things in ways we’ve never seen them before.
Maybe it forces us to be seen.
And maybe, upon examining these whispers, we find that beneath the surface, we are not the image of what we like to portray, but rather there are cracks in our armor that we desperately try to cover or ignore.
The dark whispers remind us that the uncharted, unclear path is often the way we are meant to travel.
They remind us that all healing starts from the cracks, when we listen, when we trust.
How are you trusting the dark whispers this All Hallow’s Eve?
