On the horizon
A distant star
Lighting up the night
Unwavering in its direction
A guide for her path home

We all need a north star. An anchor.
Something to point back to when we feel ungrounded or unsafe.
Something that reminds us of where we’ve been, and where we’re headed.
It could be an object, a touchstone, something physical to hold onto.
It could be something intangible yet inspirational. An idea, a quote, a memory.
It might be something bigger than us, like the sky, the stars, or our faith.
It can be many things.
I have a large selenite heart stone that I hold when I need focus or grounding.
I am enamored with sunrises and sunsets, especially those really magical, awe-inspiring arrays of light and clouds and color.
And my most grounding place is the ocean. Any body of water will do in a pinch, but nothing makes me feel more connected, centered, or meaningful in a world that often seems like the opposite of these feelings than the ocean.
What north star guides and grounds you?
