A thousand years from now
Can we even imagine
Humans will still exist,
Our reign on this earth
Still tearing from the lifeblood
Of our fellow man and beast,
All creatures crying for the day
When justice will end the tyranny?
Or will the sun set on sickness and lack,
As we rise with the full moon
Above the utopia of our dreams,
Straight out of the mind,
Through the sci-fi writer’s pen?
It’s hard to imagine the collective
Moving any way at all these days,
The seeming infinite reaping
Of mistakes gone past
Without regard for future’s coming,
The infinity of man
Only a keyhole guarantee
For the unlimited soul
